A 16-year-old female was arrested after allegedly robbing a woman as she was walking along the Todd River yesterday.

The 25-year-old victim told police she was walking along the footpath leading from Schwarz Crescent to Wills Terrace when she was approached by a teenage girl who demanded money. The offender then grabbed her handbag and took a mobile phone from it before the victim gave her money and the offender fled.

The victim then reported the incident to police who arrested the alleged offender a short time later.

The girl has been charged with robbery and resisting arrest and has been bailed to appear in the Youth Justice Court on February 24.
