Youth arrested for crime spree - Palmerston

Police have arrested a 14-year-old male in relation to a number of offences that occurred between Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Senior Constable First Class Greg Jarvis from the Palmerston Tactical Team said that it is alleged that the 14-year-old committed numerous offences in the Palmerston area during a 24 hour period.

“He is believed to be responsible for the unlawful entry of a house in Driver where he stole a vehicle before unlawfully entering two other premises, the Moulden Pre-School and Gray Primary School,” said Senior Constable First Class Jarvis.

“He later interfered with numerous vehicles along Lorna Lim Terrace and stole fuel and items from Coles Express in Durack.”

He was located early yesterday morning and charged with:

  • Stealing (x3)
  • Aggravated enter a dwelling with intent to commit an offence
  • Aggravated enter a building with intent to commit an offence (x2)
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Drive unlicensed
  • Interfere with a motor vehicle (x2)
  • Stealing from a motor vehicle.

He was remanded in custody and appeared in the Darwin Youth Justice Court today.
