Youth Arrests - Unlawful Entry - Moulden

Two youths were arrested yesterday in relation to an unlawful entry at Moulden Shopping Centre earlier in the month.

It is alleged the 14 & 15-year-old boys attended the Moulden Shopping Centre in the early hours of February 9 and forced entry to the premise through the roof.

Once inside the youths stole a number of mobile phones, power tokens, assorted alcohol and assorted cigarettes to the value of a approximately $14 000.

Palmerston Tactical Team members conducted a search warrant at a Gray residence yesterday where they located some of the stolen property. The 14-year-old youth was arrested at the residence and conveyed to Darwin Watch House where he was later charged.

The older youth was located a short time later at the Palmerston Bus Exchange by Palmerston General Duties members, where he attempted to flee police. A foot pursuit ensued and the youth was arrested a short time later; he was conveyed to Darwin Watch House where he was also charged.


One youth was remanded in custody until this morning and the other has been bailed to face court on 31st March in relation to:

Aggravated unlawful entry
Unlawfully damage property
Stealing
Possess article of disguise
Possess cannabis

A 21yr old male was also arrested in relation to this matter on Wednesday after a search warrant was executed on his residence in Gray on Tuesday morning, resulting in several of the stolen items recovered. The adult has also been bailed to appear in the 31st of March.

The warrants and arrests are as a result of information given to Police from the community.
