Arrest for Aggravated Assault - The Narrows

Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad have arrested a 26-year-old man in relation to an aggravated assault in the Narrows late last month.

“During the assault it is alleged that the 58-year-old victim was struck to the back of the head with what is believed to be a rock thrown forcefully by the primary offender.  The victim was then set upon by a group of about five men of Aboriginal appearance aged in their twenties,” said Superintendent O’Brien.

“We have identified other persons of interest relating to this assault and will be looking to arrest those people once they are located.

Superintendent James O’Brien of the Crime Division said the identification of the alleged primary offender came down the analysis of CCTV footage and speaking to local residents.
