The following statement can be attributed to the Commander, Northern Command, Dave Proctor:
“A 33-year-old, off duty Aboriginal Community Police Officer has been summonsed and will appear in the Katherine Magistrates Court this morning to face the following charges:
- Bring Liquor into a Prescribed Area
- Possess Liquor in a Prescribed Area
- Control Liquor in a Prescribed Area
The off duty officer was a passenger in her own vehicle, allegedly in possession of a bottle of spirits within a prescribed area on the 7 June 2012. The vehicle was seized.
The Officer is currently on leave pending criminal and internal disciplinary outcomes.
There is no further information or details available while the internal disciplinary process continues and this matter is before Court.”
