Escaped Prisoner - Darwin

Police

Authorities are searching for a man who escaped lawful custody at the Darwin Magistrates Court about 12 o’clock this afternoon.

44-year-old Darren Hodges appeared in court charged with a criminal matter.

Upon being sentenced to six months jail, Hodges ran from the court room and is thought to have driven from the court house.

He’s described as being of Aboriginal appearance with a medium build and about 170cm tall.

“Hodges was last seen wearing grey business pants and a long sleeve pale blue shirt.” Said Acting Senior Sergeant Shane Humphreys.

“He has links to the Leanyer area.”

If anyone knows the whereabouts of Darren Hodges or sees someone matching the description, they’re asked to contact the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
