A 36-year-old man is to face court this morning following an incident which occurred on Friday afternoon.

Superintendent James O’Brien said the 36-year-old man is alleged to have approached an 8-year-old girl in an alleyway running between Litchfield Court and Craig Crescent at around 5:15pm.

“It is alleged the man approached the girl and indecently assaulted her,” Superintendent O’Brien said.

“The girl ran from the area and alerted her father who then attended and held the alleged offender until Police arrived a short time later.

“The man was charged with indecent dealing with a child under 16 years, deprivation of liberty and aggravated assault.

“I urge anyone who may have witnessed the incident, to contact Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
