Tennant Creek Police will launch Operation Pepper, aimed at targeting anti-social behaviour and alcohol fuelled violence in and around the town.

“From this Thursday until Sunday, Police will conduct high visibility foot and vehicle patrols of known offender hotspots.” Said Superintendent Craig Barrett.

“Patrols of licensed premises will also be conducted as part of the Operation.”

“Police are happy to see people enjoy themselves but urge them to drink responsibly and respect the community and others.”

“Unfortunately offences are more-often-than-not committed under the influence of alcohol and Police are looking to crack down on alcohol abuse.” Said Supt Barrett.

“Police are committed to keeping people safe and those who don’t abide by the law will be put before the courts.”
