Members from Operation Stinger continue to make significant headway in the fight against anti-social behaviour and liquor related offences within the Katherine Township.

Superintendent Brent Warren said phase four of the operation is proving very successful, with the arrest of 20 people last week.

“Out of the 20 people arrested, seven were for unlawful entries, three were for breach of bail and 10 were for liquor offences,” Superintendent Warren said.

“Members also issued 14 Liquor Infringement Notices, a Summary Infringement Notice and tipped out more than 16 litres of alcohol.”

Since Operation Stinger began on 5 January, Police have made 48 arrests, issued 20 Liquor Infringement Notices and tipped out a total of 122 litres of alcohol. A further 16 Domestic Violence Orders were also served.
