The search for John Arthur Palmer, the 19-year-old prisoner who escaped from the Low Security Cottages at the Alice Springs Correctional Centre last week, continues.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said police had reason to believe that Palmer is in company with local man Richard James Bell.

“Recent intelligence regarding the location of Palmer suggests that he remains in the Alice Springs area, and is associating with Richard James Bell.

“Bell is currently the subject of a warrant and can be arrested.  If you know the whereabouts of John Arthur Palmer or Richard James Bell, we urge you to contact Police.

“We have reason to believe that Palmer and Bell may be travelling around town in a silver 2008 Holden Commodore sedan with NT Rego CA18TB.  If you see this vehicle, please call police,” said Detective Superintendent Warren.

Although not considered a danger to the wider community, police urge the public not to approach either male if sighted, but to call police on 131 444 or contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
