Spare Key Leads to Easy Entry - Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are continuing to search for two stolen vehicles which are hoped will hold the key to identifying the people responsible for an unlawful entry.

Yesterday morning an elderly couple aged 78 and 79 woke to find their Gillen residence ransacked and both their cars stolen.

“Initial investigations suggest the offenders located a spare key to the house to gain entry.” Said Sergeant Trent Abbott.

“Once inside, the offenders searched through draws before stealing two mobile phones and finding keys to the couple’s vehicles.”

“Police are still yet to recover the vehicles, a gold coloured 2009 Subaru Forrester and a 1984 silver coloured Rover Quintet.” Said Sgt Abbott.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
