Major Crime Detectives have tonight charged a 31-year-old man in relation to the death of a man in Alice Springs.

The body of the 36-year-old man was discovered inside a house at Antherpe Camp just before 11:30 pm on Friday night.

Initial observations of the deceased suggest the man suffered fatal stab wounds.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley from the Major Crime Section said Detectives tonight charged the man with Murder and breach Domestic Violence Order.

“The 31-year-old man has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court tomorrow."

As the matter is now before the courts, no further comment will be made by the Northern Territory Police Force.
