Two Men Arrested for Machete Attack Parap

A 33-year-old man will appear in court today charged with aggravated assault following an incident in Parap.

It is alleged that two men, aged 33 and 23, entered a house on Drysdale Street at around 8:00 pm on Sunday 25 March.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Board of the Serious Crime Squad said both men were armed with weapons.

“The 23-year-old man is alleged to have been carrying a machete and the other man armed with a large metal torch,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Board said.

“An 18-year-old man and the 41-year-old home owner were both home at the time with the 41-year-old being struck twice with the machete, resulting in wounds to one of his arms and leg.

“A sum of money was also stolen from the residence as the men fled the scene.

The 33-year-old man was arrested yesterday by Serious Crime Squad Detectives and charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful entry. He is to appear in court today.

The 23-year-old man has been charged for the same offences.
