Unlawful Entries Alice Springs

Police

Alice Springs Police are calling for public assistance after a number of unlawful entries and property damage in the town overnight.

Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst said in one incident a 41 year-old female was assaulted when she interrupted intruders inside her house.

“The lady has sustained injuries to her face after being punched by these cowards and the offenders have then run off.”

Around the same time four vehicles were interfered with on the same street and Police believe the incidents are linked.

“Vehicles in De Havilland Drive were targeted with two having their windows smashed to gain access.  Police are calling for witnesses to come forward or for anyone with any information on suspicious behaviour by a group of people around the Gillian area at about three am this morning to contact the Alice Springs Police.”

Two other vehicles were targeted in nearby Auster Court.

Earlier in the night a house in Woods Terrace, Braitling, was illegally entered and items including a watch, ipad and sunglasses were stolen.

Detective Acting Superintendent Wurst said some of the items taken were distinctive.

“Police would like to speak to anyone who has seen a black ‘DC shoes’ backpack that has red detailing, a red pair of size 11 adidas running shoes or the black ipod case that has a picture of Mickey Mouse on it.”

At about three thirty Police received another call regarding intruders in their house, this time in Cromwell Drive, Desert Springs.

“Unknown people have forced open the front door and taken a handbag from near the kitchen area, the owner has yelled out and the offenders have dropped the bag and fled the house.”

Detective Acting Superintendent Travis Wurst said any information received could assist Police with their inquiries and he encouraged people to call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
