Weather Advice 2 – Alice Springs

Police

Police, NT Emergency Service, and Natural Resources, Environment, The Art and Sport (NRETAS) continue working with the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) to monitor the weather situation in and around Alice Springs.

Regional Controller Michael Murphy says Alice Springs continues to experience rainfall and at around 8:00pm tonight, we are expecting the Todd River to flow.

“The flow will only be minimal and will be well contained within the banks however it will likely cover the Schwarz Crescent causeway,” Commander Murphy said.

“Tuncks Road causeway is currently under several centimetres of water, which is expected to increase tonight and I urge people to use extreme caution whilst travelling across these roads.

“Rain is also expected to land in the catchment area at around midnight and 3:00am tomorrow.”
