Youth arrested for multiple offences – Alice Springs

Police have arrested a 15-year-old male youth in relation to two separate incidents in Alice Springs.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said the boy was remanded in detention and will be appearing in the Alice Springs Court on 19 October.

“It is alleged the boy attended a residence in Hawkins Court in April, removed several louvres to gain entry and stole a sum of cash and the keys to a $75,000 Toyota Landcruiser,” Det Supt Warren said.

“The vehicle was recovered in Alice Springs with approximately $6,300 worth of damage.

“On 28 September the youth is alleged to have entered a home on Bromley Street and stole a set of keys and a Subaru Forrester.

“It is alleged the vehicle was driven deliberately into a tree, causing approximately $6,000 worth of damage.”

He was located at Larapinta Valley Camp on Wednesday and charged with:

  • Aggravated enter dwelling with intent to commit offence (x2)
  • Stealing (x2)
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a motor vehicle (x2)
  • Damage property.
