Fatal Crash – Humpty Doo

Police

A 56-year-old man has died following a single vehicle rollover on Coral Road in Humpty Doo.

Acting Commander Bob Rennie said Police received a call from a member of the public at 6:15am this morning informing them of the crash.

“Police confirmed on arrival the man had been ejected from the vehicle and had died as a result of injuries received.

“The Major Crash Unit is investigating and anyone with any information, or who may know the travel movements of this person prior to the crash is urged to contact Police on 131 444.

“This is our fifth fatality in under a week and Territory drivers need to seriously start thinking about what choices they are making when getting behind the wheel.

“We will deal with this, we will prepare reports for the coroner and we will, in all honestly, get ready for the next one.

“This is horrific for everyone involved and we desperately need to slow it down,” Acting Commander Rennie said.

The 2015 road toll now stands at 48 compared to 38 at the same time last year.
