Call for information - alleged firearm offences

Police

Northern Territory Police have responded to two unrelated firearm incidents on Thursday night.

Police arrested a 29-year old man who allegedly discharged a firearm at his Humpty Doo property shortly after 6pm.

Police had received reports of yelling from the property and it’s alleged a shot was fired into bushland. No-one was injured.

When police attended the property the man dropped the firearm and drove off.

After a pursuit lasting 50 minutes police arrested the man near where the pursuit began at the Ballinger Street property.

In the second incident, a small blue Suzuki hatch has stopped in Rickards Court, Malak, at around 6.15pm. The vehicle contained 3 or 4 males. The alleged offender has got out of the vehicle and allegedly threatened the victim with a long arm firearm.

The victim has confronted the offender who has then got back into the vehicle and left the area.

The alleged offender is described as 17-18 years old, a light- skinned Aboriginal male without a shirt and wearing blue jeans.

If anyone has any information about either of the two incidents they are urged to contact police on 131444 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
