Drug and Organised Crime Squad Detectives in conjunction with the Territory Response Group executed a search warrant at Bakewell yesterday morning.
During the course of the search police located a large amount of cash in Cryovac packaging and a commercial quantity of methamphetamine.
At the conclusion of the search a 37-year-old male associate of the Outlaws Motorcycle Gang was arrested.
The male has been charged with:
- Possess A Commercial Quantity Of Methamphetamine
- Supply Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug
- Possess Tainted Property
The male was remanded in custody and will appear at Darwin Local Court today.
Drug Squad Detectives also made an unrelated drug seizure at Darwin Airport around 1:00am this morning. A 39-year-old male was found to be in possession of a commercial quantity of methamphetamine. He is expected to be charged later today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Morgan said police do not tolerate the presence of outlaw motorcycle gangs and their associates who are engaging in criminal activity.
“We will continue to target these groups with the intention of dismantling them and disrupting their illegal activities. The results achieved in the last 24 hours are significant and couldn’t be achieved without assistance from concerned members of the community. Police use a large array of investigative techniques however information from the community is invaluable. I encourage the public to continue to refuse to tolerate the supply and possession of illicit substances and to continue to work with police to combat this problem.”
