The Northern Territory Road Toll has risen to 23 following a fatal crash in Howard Springs overnight.
Police received multiple reports of a vehicle crash on Whitewood Road around 6:30am this morning.
Unfortunately, a 24-year-old male passed away at the scene. Another 24-year-old male was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital with critical injuries.
The Major Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who travelled along Whitewood Road between midnight and 6:30am to come forward. Anyone who observed a black Toyota LandCruiser travelling or on the side of the road is urged to contact police on 131444. Please quote reference number 9094421.
