Two arrested for rural crime series

Strike Force Trident are investigating a series of unlawful entries which occurred at Coolalinga and Noonamah on Monday, 26 August 2019.

Unknown offenders stole a vehicle from a Virginia residence some time during the night on Monday. Two males, aged 14 and 15, along with another unidentified offender came into possession of the stolen vehicle and drove it to a Coolalinga shopping centre where five businesses were broken into. A quantity of knives and loose change was stolen from the businesses. The trio then drove to a licensed premises in Noonamah where they forced entry and stole bottles of alcohol.

Trident officers conducted a number of enquiries and located the 14-year-old and 15-year-old males at two separate residences in Moulden yesterday afternoon. They were arrested and conveyed to Darwin Watch House and released on juvenile diversion.

Police are working to ascertain the identity and whereabouts of the third offender.
