Arrest – Aggravated assault – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police continue to appeal for public information following the serious assault of a woman in Alice Springs at the weekend.

It will be alleged the 38-year-old woman was seriously physically assaulted by a 30-year-old man known to her, on a bush track off Undoolya Road on Friday evening.

The man, who was arrested at a remote property 90km south of Alice Springs on Saturday afternoon, has been remanded in custody to appear before the Alice Springs Local Court on May 7, 2020 on the following charges;

  • Intend serious harm, cause harm
  • Fail to rescue/provide help
  • Drive a motor vehicle while disqualified
  • Drive at a speed and manner dangerous.

Police continue their appeal for anyone who may have witnessed two people driving in a blue Mitsubishi 380 sedan with South Australian registration XRY394, in the Alice Springs CBD area on Friday night, and from Alice Springs towards Stuarts Well on Saturday February 15.
