Arrest - Property offending - Alice Springs

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in relation to a series of criminal and property offences in Alice Springs last week.

Just before 3am on Thursday June 18, the boy, along with two others allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter a service station on Gap Road, causing significant damage in the process.

A short time later, the three allegedly unlawfully entered a fast food restaurant on the corner of Stott Terrace and Todd Street and stole a sum of cash.

Around 2:45am on Sunday June 21, it with be further alleged the youth along with two others, unlawfully entered a shopping centre on Bath Street where once inside, they have broken into a store and stolen a sum of cash.

Just before 6am the same day, the three unlawfully entered a fast-food-restaurant on the corner of Stott Terrace and Todd Street and allegedly defaced an office before stealing a laptop and fleeing the scene.

The youth was arrested later that day and taken to the Alice Springs Watch House where he was charged with:

1 x Attempted unlawful entry

5 x Unlawfully Entry

4 x Criminal damage

3 x Stealing

He has been remanded until June 29, 2020.

Investigations into identifying others involved in these offences, continue.
