Arrest - Robbery - Malak and Karama

Northern Territory Police have arrested a further two males in relation to two alleged robberies that occurred last week.

At around 8:00pm on Wednesday 1 July 2020, a group of allegedly armed males entered a retail premises. They allegedly threatened staff before stealing several bottles of spirits and fleeing the location.

Shortly after, the group attended another retail premises in Karama and again allegedly stole several bottles of spirit. An employee was assaulted while attempting to stop the group. 

Earlier this week, Detectives from the Serious Crime Squad and StrikeForce Trident successfully arrested four youths, aged between 13 and 16, and charged them with robbery in relation to the Malak incident.

Police have located and arrested the two outstanding males, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old. Both have been both charged with robbery over the Malak and the Karama incidents.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jak Evans said, “This has been a collaborative effort by members of the police force and the public.

“It was a terrible ordeal for the employees to experience and I am happy that we have been able to locate the offenders.”
