Arrests - Stolen Vehicle - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested multiple people following a car crash that occurred in Palmerston this afternoon.

At about 6:30pm, CCTV operators spotted a group of female teenagers stealing a single vehicle from Bakewell shopping centre. Operators alerted a nearby patrol unit, who then located the vehicle.

A short police pursuit was initiated before the stolen vehicle was driven through a red light at the intersection of Roystonea and University Avenue, and collided with another vehicle.

Police apprehended five female youths, aged between 14 and 17, at the scene. They were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for medical treatment with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle was also conveyed to hospital with minor injuries.
