Arrests - Unlawful entries - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged four youth in relation to an unlawful entry and stolen motor vehicle offences in Alice Springs.

Four males, aged 16, 16, 15 and 16-years-old were charged in relation to the unlawful entry of a home in Gillen in which the victim’s debit card and vehicle were stolen, on October 20, 2019.

It will be further alleged the stolen debit card was used to buy cigarettes, food and soft drink and various businesses around town.

The vehicle was found abandoned behind a vacant home in Larapinta the following day.

Just before 10pm on Monday, police located and arrested;

  • A 16-year-old male who has been charged with one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle and will appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on March 2.

He has also been charged with one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle in relation to a separate incident on Monday January 13.

  • A 15-year-old male will be summonsed to appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court on two charges of Criminal Deception.

  • A 16-year-old male will be summonsed to appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Count charged with one count of Criminal Deception.

  • A 16-year-old male has been charged with one count of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle and will be subject to Youth Diversion under the Youth Justice Act.
