Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance in relation to a structure fire which destroyed a local health clinic demountable in Tennant Creek yesterday.

Police, Fire and Rescue Services responded to a report of a structure fire on Irvine Street at 7:30am on Thursday.

The building, which was at the back of the Anyinginyi Congress Health Aboriginal Corporation complex, had been destroyed by fire overnight and was still smouldering when emergency services arrived.

Initial investigations indicate the building had been unlawfully entered prior to the blaze.

The fire is being treated as suspicious.

Detectives from the Tennant Creek Investigations Unit have released a CCTV image of three men who they wish to speak to as the three were identified as being in the area overnight.

Senior Constable Ryan Thornton of the Tennant Creek Investigations Unit said “Someone would have had to have heard or seen something in the area.”

“We’ve got CCTV footage from the area which shows three men walking in the area. We’d like to speak to these men as we believe they may have information which could assist with our investigations.”

“We are encouraging anyone who may recognise the men in the image to contact us,” said Snr Const Thornton
