Call for Witnesses – Vehicle offences – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a dangerous driving incident in Alice Springs overnight.

Shortly after 1.00am on Friday 13 March 2020, a silver Toyota Rav-4 NT 506846 drove onto the lawns of the Alice Springs Council on Todd Street where this vehicle performed a number of burnouts causing damage. 

This vehicle was then driven recklessly along Todd Street and other Alice Springs CBD streets.  Licensed premises on Todd Street were open and the safety of their patrons and other road users in the CBD were put at danger.  At least one red traffic light was breached during this incident.

Police later found the vehicle and enquiries continue locate the driver. 

Police are urging witnesses who were in the Alice Springs CBD early this morning, anyone with dash-cam footage of this incident or anyone who can positively identify the driver to come forward.
