Charges – Unlawful entry – Driver

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a 24-year-old man following an unlawful entry at a Driver residence yesterday afternoon.

At around 5:45pm, the man allegedly entered the residence via an unlocked door and stole a quantity of alcohol before being chased from the location by the owner.

Police responded and apprehended the man in possession of alcohol a short time after.

The man has been charged with:

  • unlawful entry
  • stealing.

He will appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Acting Commander Sachin Sharma said, “This is an excellent result following the quick response from our police officers”

“It is also an important reminder for residents to make sure their properties are secure, even when at home. Property offenders tend to be opportunistic so we don’t want to make it easier for them by leaving our cars and properties unlocked”.
