Northern Territory Police have arrested a man who escaped custody in Alice Springs earlier this week.

The 29-year-old man escaped correctional custody in the Alice Springs Hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

He was arrested by police in the Alice Springs CBD area earlier today.

Police would like to thank the community for their assistance in the search for the man.
