Operation Starck - Results update 6 - Drug seizures

Northern Territory Police have seized further quantities of cannabis and alcohol destined for remote communities as part of Operation Starck.

Operation Starck was established by the Drug and Organised Crime Squad (DOCS) to disrupt the importation of illicit substances, including cannabis and alcohol, into remote communities. Screening of air and sea freight included the physical inspection of shipments by DOCS detectives and the use of drug detector dogs from the Dog Operations Unit.

Between Saturday 16 and Thursday 21 May 2020, police seized approximately 502 grams of cannabis and seven litres of liquor.

Two people were issued a notice to appear in court, there were thirteen drug infringements and a further matter remains under investigation.

Operation Starck activities have seized 5.94 kilos of cannabis. Operation Starck remains ongoing.
