Traffic campaign - Victoria Daly

Police

Northern Territory Police from Daly River Police Station conducted a traffic campaign in the Victoria Daly region on Thursday 18 June 2020.

Police checked a number of vehicles prior to coming across a black Holden Commodore sedan. As the vehicle approached, members could hear glass bottles being thrown from the vehicle.

Police searched the vehicle and located two one-litre bottles of alcohol and two 375ml cans of alcohol.

Members conducted a further search along the side of the road which located:

  • 8 x 1 litre bottles of alcohol
  • 4 x 700ml bottles of alcohol

Approximately 13 litres was seized and destroyed.

The 31-year-old male driver was issued with an infringement notice for bringing alcohol into an alcohol protected area.

Senior Sergeant Bradley Fox said, “This seizure is a good result, and it without a doubt reduces alcohol related harm in the community”.
