Traffic campaign - Victoria Daly

Police

Northern Territory Police from Daly River Police Station conducted a traffic campaign in the Victoria Daly region on Friday 19 June 2020.

Police conducted a search of approximately 20 vehicles, detecting a multitude of offences. Overall 15 infringements were issued, three of which involved individuals in possession of firearms whilst intoxicated.

Approximately 99 litres of alcohol were seized and destroyed, along with 140 grams of cannabis.

Senior Sergeant Bradley Fox said, “Over the past weeks officers have observed several drivers committing a range of traffic offences, combined with the conveyance of alcohol and drugs. If the alcohol and drugs had reached the intended communities the effects would have been detrimental to health and significantly increased anti-social behaviour.
