Arrest - Aggravated assault - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have arrested a 41-year-old man following an alleged aggravated assault in The Narrows last week.

The man was actively avoiding police when Detectives from the Domestic and Family Violence Division Section arrested him in Palmerston yesterday afternoon.

Police would like to thank the community for their assistance in locating the man.

The man was taken to Palmerston Watch House and charged with:

  • recklessly endanger life
  • engage in conduct that contravenes a DVO

He will appear in Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Warren Scott said domestic violence is an ongoing concern for the community.

“NT Police are actively targeting repeat and high risk offenders in an effort to reduce domestic violence. If you’re a victim of domestic violence or know someone who is experiencing domestic violence, please report it,” said Det A/Snr Sgt Scott.
