Detectives from Strike Force Viper have arrested three youth in relation to a series of unlawful entries and criminal damage incidents in Alice Springs earlier this week.

CCTV footage captured a group of five youth unlawfully entering a restaurant on Hartley Street before 2am on Wednesday, where they stole drinks and attempted to steal money.

At 2:20am a home on Irvine Crescent was unlawfully entered and a vehicle parked at the address was stolen. The stolen motor vehicle was observed driving around suburbs in Alice Springs.

Officers followed the vehicle, which was stopped following the successful deployment of a Tyre Deflation Device, and two offenders were subsequently apprehended.

Two male youths both aged 13-years-old were arrested and charged in relation to the unlawful entry of the residential address in Irvine Street and the unlawful entry of the Hartley Street restaurant.

A third male youth who was found in breach of his bail, was arrested in relation to the unlawful entry of the Hartley Street restaurant.

The two 13-year-old males were remanded in custody overnight and are to appear before court charged with multiple counts of Unlawful entry and one count of Unlawful Use of a motor vehicle.

One youth was bailed and will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.

Investigations into the unlawful entries of three businesses and a criminal damage of a property in the Fan Arcade in the Todd Mall on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning continue by members of Strike Force Viper.
