Members of Strike Force Viper have arrested and charged four people in relation to multiple criminal offences committed across Alice Springs.
Two youth, aged 17 and 15 years old have been charged in relation to an unlawful entry on Bloomfield Street on 2 February, where a number of personal items including a credit card was stolen.
It is alleged the two used the stolen credit card at a Gillen service station later that evening.
The two were identified, located and arrested by Strike Force Viper members’ yesterday morning. The 17 year old male who was on bail at the time of the offending, was charged with Obtain benefit by deception.The 15-year-old male was charged with Obtain benefit by deception and Breach of suspended sentence.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged in relation to an unlawful entry of a restaurant in the Todd Mall on 13 February.
It is alleged the man and another unknown offender forced entry into the restaurant where they stole a quantity of alcohol, using a plastic tub to transport it from the business and into a trolley which was stashed in the Todd Mall.
Police located and apprehended the man for drinking in a public place, and the trolley of alcohol was returned to the owner.
The man was arrested and charged with one count of Unlawful Entry, he will appear before court later today.
Strike Force Viper arrested a 30-year-old man in relation to an aggravated assault incident in which a woman was physically assaulted in Alice Springs on 7 February.
Viper members were conducting patrols in Larapinta when they observed the man who had an outstanding warrant of apprehension. The man, who fled the area on foot, was pursued by Viper members and arrested.
He was charged with two counts of Aggravated assault, two counts of Breach DVO and one count of Warrant of Apprehension. He was remanded in custody and will appear before court this afternoon.
