Call for information - Assault - Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police are appealing for a driver of a vehicle who saved a woman from being further assaulted in Alice Springs earlier this week, to contact them.

Between 9 and 10pm on Tuesday, a 34-year-old woman was walking in scrubland along Larapinta Drive when it is alleged she was physically assaulted multiple times by a man who is known to her.

The woman managed to escape the man, running onto the road where a man driving white Toyota utility stopped and collected the woman before driving her to the Alice Springs Hospital. The woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Inquiries continue into locating the 34-year-old male offender.

Police still wish to speak with the driver of the vehicle, who they believe will have information to assist the investigation.

“This driver is not in any trouble. We believe he will have information that can assist our case and bring the offender to justice,” said Senior Constable Christopher Ship.
