Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an assault incident in Nakara on Tuesday afternoon. 

A 31-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by an unknown man on Macredie Street around 4:40pm.

Two bystanders, who witnessed the incident came to the woman’s aid and the man fled the scene before police arrived.

The woman was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for assessment.

Police would like to speak with anyone who was in the area between 4pm and 5pm who may be able to assist with inquiries, and in particular speak with the individuals featured in the attached photos. They are not suspects or involved in the incident but may be able to assist.

The man was described as of Indigenous appearance, wearing a blue basketball singlet and black shorts.
