Charges – Aggravated robberies – Darwin and Palmerston

Northern Territory Police have charged a number of youths in relation to incidents around Darwin and Palmerston over the weekend.

At around 12pm on Friday, four male youths were reported to police for allegedly causing disturbances at a business on Temple Terrace. An 11-year-old allegedly assaulted an employee before all four youths were arrested by police a short time later.

Strike Force Trident Detectives charged the 11-year-old with:

  • 1 x Assault of a worker
  • 1 x Serious breach bail 

He was remanded to face court today.

The 10, 12 and 17-year-old males were released pending further investigation.

At around 7:45pm on Saturday, a 17-year-old male allegedly entered a service station in Ludmilla armed with two blunt weapons. He has allegedly damaged the front counter and stole a number of small item before fleeing the scene.

At around 8:50pm on Saturday, the same 17-year-old and three co-offenders entered a service station on Smith Street, where they allegedly stole and number of small items and assaulted an employee.

Three of the alleged offenders were arrested a short time later, Strike Force Trident detectives charged the 17-year-old with:

  • 1 x Robbery - aggravated
  • 1 x Armed with offensive weapon
  • 1 x Assault a worker - victim not suffer harm
  • 1 x Damage to property

He was remanded to appear in court today.

The 12-year-old male was charged with:

  • 1 x Robbery – aggravated

The 13-year-old male was charged with:

  • 1 x Robbery – aggravated
  • 1 x Unlawfully possess property

They were both bailed to appear before court on Wednesday 22 September 2021.

Investigations into this incident are continuing with one offender outstanding.
