Charges – Assault police – Greater Darwin Area

Northern Territory Police have charged two men in relation to two separate incidents of assault police in Darwin yesterday.

At around 3:30pm, an Auxiliary officer was allegedly assaulted by a 32-year-old man at the Darwin Watch House.

At around 11:30pm, a Constable was allegedly assaulted by a 36-year-old man while responding to an incident at a residence in Berrimah.

Both officers required medical treatment.

The two men have been additionally charged with:

Commander Daniel Bacon said, “Attacks on our members as they go about their duties protecting and serving the community are despicable.

“Everyone deserves to go about their work without the fear of aggression and both these men will have to answer for that additional charge when facing court.”
