Charges – Crime series – Darwin

Detectives from Strike Force Trident have arrested five youths aged 13-15 in relation to a series of property crimes across Darwin yesterday.

Police allege the group was involved with unlawful entries, theft and stealing motor vehicles at locations in Nightcliff, Cullen Bay, and Durack before they were apprehended in Nightcliff.

A 13-year-old male was charged with:

  • 1 x Unlawful entry (dwelling)
  • 2 x Unlawful entry (building)
  • 2 x Damage property
  • 1 x Aggravated use motor vehicle
  • 2 x Stealing
  • 1 x Unlawfully possess property
  • 1 x Serious breach bail

A 15-year-old male was charged with:

  • 1 x Unlawful entry (building)
  • 1 x Stealing
  • 1 x Unlawfully possess property
  • 1 x Aggravated unlawful use motor vehicle
  • 1 x Resist police
  • 1 x Drive unlicensed
  • 1 x Serious breach of bail

A 13-year-old male was charged with:

  • 1 x Unlawful entry (dwelling)
  • 2 x Unlawful entry (building)
  • 2 x Damage property
  • 1 x Aggravated use motor vehicle
  • 2 x Stealing
  • 1 x Criminal deception

They were all remanded in custody to appear on 6 August 2021.

A 13 year-old male and 13-year-old female will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
