Northern Territory Police have arrested and charged a man for a number of historic sexual offences committed against a younger family member.

The 38-year-old male was arrested yesterday by Sex Crimes Detectives for offences allegedly committed between 1998 and 2004.

The family member reported these offences to police in March of this year.

The man has been charged with:

• 2 x Sexual intercourse without consent
• 2 x Act of gross indecency

He was remanded in custody to face court today.
