Charges – Sexual Assault – Darwin rural area

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a 54-year-old man over an incident involving a child at a caravan park in Darwin’s rural area last night.

Police allege the man interfered with a young girl in his care. Neighbouring campers alerted police to the incident, and the man was arrested on site shortly afterward, in the early hours of this morning.

He has since been charged with two counts of gross indecency without consent.

At the time of writing, bail is yet to be considered but will be opposed by police.

In the interests of protecting the victim’s privacy, there will be no further details released by police on this matter.
