Northern Territory Police from the Drugs and Organised Crime Section (DOCS) have charged two men in relation to the possession and supply of cocaine and MDMA.
On 22 July, DOCS members apprehended a vehicle in Pinelands. The vehicle was searched and members located cocaine, cash and a mobile phone. Members subsequently executed a search warrant at a residence in Palmerston and located traffickable amounts of cocaine and MDMA, as well as more cash.
A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with:
- Supplying a schedule 1 dangerous drug - Commercial quantity
- Possess a traffickable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug (cocaine)
- Possess a traffickable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug (MDMA)
- Possess tainted property
- Possess a less than traffickable quantity of a schedule 1 dangerous drug in a public place
The man was bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 29 July.
Following a police operation, yesterday members arrested a 47-year-old man at his home in The Gardens for possession of a commercial quantity of cocaine.
He has been charged with:
- Possess schedule 1 dangerous drug – commercial quantity
He has been bailed to appear in Darwin Local Court on 4 August.
Detective A/Senior Sergeant Matt Akers said, “We will continue to target people who peddle in these substances that create misery and pain for families in the Northern Territory”.
