Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance to locate a man who escaped from the Darwin Correctional Precinct in Holtze earlier this evening.

23-year-old Simeon Waterloo escaped from the low security section at around 5:30pm with a 33-year-old male who has since returned.

Simeon Waterloo is described as being Indigenous in appearance, 85kgs, 180cm tall, wearing a yellow prison issued t-shirt, blue shorts and blue shoes.

He may be wearing a clear poncho.

The man is not considered a danger to the public, but should not be approached by community members. Police urge anyone who sees him or knows of his whereabouts to contact police immediately on 131 444 or anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
