A 44-year-old male Northern Territory Police Officer has been arrested and charged with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code Act, 1983:
- Attempt to pervert the course of justice
- Make False Declaration
He has been bailed to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on 16 December 2021.
The officer has been suspended from duty without pay.
The matter is under investigation by Crime Command and the Professional Standards Command.
As the matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.
