Northern Territory Police have apprehended the 22-year-old male who escaped correctional custody yesterday in Marrara.

At around 1:50pm today, Serious Crime detectives apprehended the man in West Lane, Darwin City.

The man is in custody and is expected to be charged with:

• 1 x Escape lawful custody

He will appear before Darwin Local Court at a later date.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Brett Cottier said, “Detectives actively worked with CCTV operators to track the man down. Police would also like to thank members of the public for their assistance in apprehending the man.”
