Northern Territory Police have tonight charged a 54 year old man following the death of a man in Darwin River last night.

It is alleged the man was involved in several physical altercations with a 53-year-old man, who is known to him, prior to a final assault where the victim remained unresponsive.

Attending police and emergency services conducted CPR on arrival but the man died at the scene.

Detectives today charged the man with one count of Manslaughter, he has been refused police bail and will be remanded in custody to appear before Darwin Local Court on a date yet to be determined.
