Arrests – Property offending – Greater Darwin Region

Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested three youths in relation to separate property offending incidents.

Between the hours of 9:00am and 1:00pm last Thursday, a Subaru XV was stolen from Darwin City before being used in an unlawful entry in Nightcliff, where a Ford Focus was also stolen along with other personal items including credit cards.

Both drivers stopped at multiple service stations, using the credit cards to refuel and purchase store items.

The following day, police located a 13-year-old male in Malak. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of foreign money that was reportedly in the Ford Focus. The second driver, a 16-year-old female, was located and arrested in Nightcliff.

Both youths were charged with property offences and remanded to appear in court today.

In a separate incident, Strike Force Trident members had been trying to locate a
17-year-old male, who was allegedly involved in two unlawful entries at a commercial business in Leanyer last month.

On Friday morning, police were called to a residence in Gray with reports of intruders on the premises. On arrival, the 17-year-old offender has evaded police before being later located on Driver circuit.

He was taken to Palmerston Watch House and charged multiple property offences before appearing in court today.
