Northern Territory Police have charged a 50-year-old woman with child abduction following the disappearance of five-year-old Grace Hughes from the Berrimah area on Sunday.

NT Police are continuing to actively search for Grace and her mother Laura Hinks (aka Laura Bolt), 34.

Ongoing police activities resulted in the arrest of the 50-year-old woman at a residence in Anula overnight.

The woman has been charged with:

  • Abduct child under 16 x 1
  • Abduct child under 16 (attempt) x 1

She has been remanded in custody to face court on Monday.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Jon Beer said police will allege the woman was involved in Grace’s abduction and she is refusing to provide information that may help locate the girl and her mother.

“Police will use all resources necessary to locate Grace.
